Campus Irchel: Concentration of self-service locations

At Irchel, self-catering facilities will now be concentrated at two locations (room Y23-H-86 and Mensa TheYARD). The microwaves in the workshop room Y22-G-74 (formerly the lecturers’ foyer) will be dismantled as of 3 August 2026 and can be used from 12 August 2026 in room Y23-H-86. 

The workshop room Y22-G-74 (formerly the lecturers’ foyer) will be newly refurbished. It will be upgraded with sofa, upholstery, seat cushions, bar stools, and fresh paint. The seminar room will thus also become a place for exchange and social interaction. 

As part of this redesign, it was important that the microwave appliances for self-catering receive a new location. From August 3. to August 7, the existing six microwaves from the workshop room will also be available in the microwave room Y23-H-86 (next to the current student association office). This ensures that the microwaves can be used at any time.

At the Irchel campus, there are now two self-catering locations:

• Microwave room Y23-H-86 with 11 microwaves

• Mensa TheYARD with 6 microwaves

During the week of 3- 12 August 2026, the microwaves in the workshop room (Y22-G-74) and in the microwave room (Y23-H-86) will not be available, or only partially available, due to dismantling/installation work on furniture and electrical systems. We appreciate your understanding.
