Operational Costs for Student Association Events

The Direktion Finanzen has decided to voluntarily cover the operating costs for events organized by student associations and student organizations at Irchelbar and Platte14 in the future.

Following the introduction of cost-sharing by student associations at the beginning of 2025, the impact of this arrangement was reviewed. The evaluation showed that the financial burden on many organizations was higher than anticipated. With this decision, the Finance Directorate responds to these findings and strengthens the framework conditions for student engagement at UZH. As before, personnel costs will continue to be covered by Campus Culture.

“We are very pleased with this decision. The Direktion Finanzen has taken the feedback from the student associations seriously and found a pragmatic solution that provides planning certainty and supports the diverse student life at UZH,” says Lauma Goldmann from VSUZH.
