The Kanti Irchel cafeteria is now called ‘The YARD’ – with a new catering concept
The YARD cafeteria in building Y13, level E, is open to all members of the Irchel campus and all guests.
Starting in the 2026 spring semester, the cafeteria will offer a new catering concept. The YARD impresses with specialities from around the world as well as comfort food. The lunch menu also includes sandwiches, salads, drinks and desserts, and offers snacks, pastries and muesli for breaks. There is something for everyone here.

Price harmonization between Kani Irchel (The YARD) and UZH
We are pleased to announce that the prices at the cafeteria of the KZN@Irchel and the cafeterias of UZH at Irchel will be harmonized as of October 20, 2025. This means that members of KZN@Ircheland UZH will benefit from the lower prices at UZH in all dining facilities on campus. Teachers, staff, and students of KZN@Irchel should present their KZN@Irchel ID card (Canton of Zurich, Department of Education), while members of UZH should present their UZH Card.
Starting in January 2026, a new catering concept will be introduced with the integration of the KZN@Irchel cafeteria into the UZH cafeteria system. We will provide more detailed information about this at a later date.
