Catering Council (Mensarat)

The Catering Council is made up of eight members and advises the Executive Board of the University on all matters related to the cafeterias of the University of Zurich. It furnishes the Catering Commission with information about current business affairs, periodically reviews the catering concept, offerings and prices and is also responsible for providing the medium- and long-term strategic plan.

The Catering Council is chaired by Daniel Hug, Director of Finances.

Catering Commission (Mensakommission)

The Catering Commission is an opinion-making body made up of 21 members. With respect to the cafeterias of the University of Zurich, it carries out the following tasks:

It directly oversees and addresses complaints received from both the users and operators of the cafeterias. It issues use policies and defines the concept for the cafeterias’ offerings based on proposals submitted by ZFV. The Catering Commission expresses its opinion to the Executive Board of the University on building-related issues and price proposals submitted by the operator. Furthermore, it prepares the annual report about the cafeterias for the attention of the Executive Board of the University and informs users of the cafeterias of this report. The Catering Commission is responsible for all business dealings which have not expressly been assigned to the Executive Board of the University or the Catering Council.

The Catering Commission is chaired by Dr. Caroline Weckerle, Department of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany.
